Background
Bob Knight was born in a small town called Massilon, Ohio in 1940, but he grew up in a smaller town about 16 miles from Massilon called Orrville. Throughout his high school years he played basketball and football. While playing basketball in high school Knight became very talented at the game and end up playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes in college. Through his freshman and sophomore years playing for the Buckeyes he played a lot and started for them, but later on in his years he ended up becoming the sixth man off the bench behind future hall of famers Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek. During the season in 1960 Bob Knight ended being part of the only Ohio State Buckeye team to ever be national champions.

Knight became disenfranchised by the fact of coaching junior varsity players for the rest of his life. So Bob Knight accepted a coaching job at West Point to be the assistant coach for Army. For two years he was just an assistant coach until his time came at the age of twenty four after only two years of being an assistant coach, he became the head coach. While coaching for six seasons at West Point Coach Bob Knight won a total of 102 games as the head coach. While at Army, Coach Bob Knight ended up coaching Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski. Who as everyone knows is the current coach for the Duke University Blue Devils. Coach K. as sports fans know, is only 50 wins away from surpassing Coach Bob Knight in the all time wins list.
